About the Company:Australian Garnet owns the Lucky Bay Garnet Mine, which has a mine life of 30 years. We are an owner miner with our own fleet of mining equipment, have a fully operational processing plant, packaging plant and 7 wind turbines, construction was completed approximately 2 years ago.

About the Role:
We are looking for Material Technicians?to join our team working on our recently constructed Lucky Bay mine site. The mine has a 30 year + mine life and is located within a thirty-minute drive from Kalbarri township.
The main duty of the position is to ensure the safe performance of the Processing Plants and ensure optimum recovery and product quality.?
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Safety of all personnel at the Lucky Bay mine.
* Testing materials of the processing plant, analyse, record and report results.
* Conduct mineral research to study materials in support of Metallurgist.
* Conduct studies of the mineral before and during processing to determine their properties.
* Exposing materials to test procedure using equipment under the direction of Metallurgist.
* Determine adjustments needed on materials based on results of testing.
* Prepare, operate and clean laboratory equipment.
* Liaison with Mining, Product & Maintenance teams within Australian Garnet, via frequent informative communications.
* Innovation with work processes, equipment and procedures.
* Strong communication links with all staff.
* Assist in preparation of budgets.
* Manage maintenance costs to be within budgeted aims.
* Assign and allocate resources appropriately.
* Respectful dealings with all personnel.
* Prioritise care for people working on Australian Garnet sites.
To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate:
* At least 2 years mining experience in a similar role.
* Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy or related science – highly regarded
* Experience with mineral sand and laboratory practices – highly regarded
* Solid mechanical aptitude
* Experience with mineral sand processing and mining equipment – highly regarded
* RSO static gauges qualification – highly regarded
* Supervisory experience (desirable)
* Excellent verbal and written communication
* Proven abilities to manage processes and problem solve plant issues
* Sound materials handling knowledge
* Proven abilities to deliver a safe work environment
* Leadership abilities demonstrated based on organisational values
