Description:
You will design, develop, implement, assess and evaluate, as well as contribute to the analysis of relevant operational skills for Protective Services Officers and recruits to meet current and future needs of Protective Services Group.As part of this role, you’ll also collaborate with internal stakeholders in order to establish and maintain information management and other administrative systems as well as enhance service delivery outcomes relating to education and training.
Your Key Accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Conduct needs analysis in conjunction with management to determine training requirements of staff and contribute to the development of strategies to meet these requirements.
- Develop and deliver training and development programs in accordance with policies, best practices, procedures and in support of improved professional standards.
- Undertake assessment of staff and prepare reports based on these assessments.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of training policies, best practices, procedures and standards.
- Undertake the assessment and evaluation of internal training and development programs.
- Establish and maintain information management and other administrative systems to monitor the training and assessment of staff.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with internal and external clients and stakeholders in order to identify efficiencies, consistency and enhance service delivery outcomes relating to education and training.
- Apply adult education methodologies relevant to Queensland Police Service operational skills training programs and internal education and training policies and processes. (Protective Services only).
Mandatory
- There are no mandatory requirements for this role however, formal qualifications in Assessment and Training (e.g. Certificate IV or higher) or accredited tertiary qualification in adult education would be highly regarded.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Teams, and SharePoint, and experience using Ignite LMS is highly desirable
- Previous experience with the design, development and delivery of operational skills and tactics training would be highly regarded.
- The successful applicant will be required to successfully complete relevant operational skills and tactics courses if not already in possession of equivalent qualifications including Protective Services Operational Skills and Tactics Instructors Course, Taser Instructor Course, etc.
- The position will be based in Brisbane. Training may be delivered from time to time at various locations throughout Queensland, which will necessitate the need for travel.
