The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. About the role
Reporting to the Director, Service Delivery Management the Senior Manager, Accommodation Security will lead the delivery and governance of government office accommodation security requirements; including planning, security assessment and advisory services for ACLS clients as occupants in owned and leased Victorian Government properties.
The role will work collaboratively with departments and agencies to ensure coordinated, strategic and successful delivery of a services and will govern and work with outsourced providers, providing governance oversight of current and future contractual arrangements.
The Senior Manager, Accommodation Security will be required to ensure services are delivered in line with ACLS building security policies and procedures to ensure a consistent and effective whole of Victorian Government approach to office accommodation security requirements.
About you
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Demonstrated experience leading a high performing security services function to meet diverse and complex strategic and operational business needs.
- Expert and applied knowledge of contemporary physical security trends, challenges and innovations at a state, national and global level.
- Experienced people and vendor manager, able to drive strong performance from teams and manage multiple and competing priorities effectively.
- Highly developed analytical, problem solving and reporting skills applied in a dynamic and sensitive operating environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal, writing and presentation skills, able to effectively engage and influence diverse stakeholders, particularly at senior levels.
Technical expertise
- Extensive experience in developing enterprise frameworks and policies and a strong knowledge of Compliance Management Systems.
- Experience in implementing strategic initiatives in a complex policy and financial environment to achieve outcomes consistent with business objectives
Key accountabilities
- Leading governance and oversight of ACLS office accommodation security services, ensuring ACLS delivers efficient, effective and value for money security services in line with service agreement and catalogue of services commitments.
- Accountable for effective governance and oversight of operational security outsourced providers, ensuring performance is aligned to all relevant contractual requirements, government policies and performance measures.
- Developing, maintaining and ensuring effective application of whole of Victorian Government Office Accommodation Security Guidelines, ensuring these are fit for purpose and align with relevant state and national security policies and frameworks.
- Engaging with senior stakeholders, industry bodies and other government or industry agencies to influence decision making and effective implementation of office building security works programs, advice, and service delivery.
- Applying contemporary physical security and occupational health and safety knowledge and appreciation of the ACLS managed portfolio to give integrated expert strategic and operational advice on current and future office accommodation security requirements.
- Lead the ACLS security team, driving high performance and development of all staff members, effectively planning and managing resourcing to meet changing business demands.
