Marketing and Corporate Affairs (MCA) is responsible for delivering an integrated and consistent approach to the Group’s marketing, external and internal affairs, communications, sustainability, community investment and social impact.
The Corporate Affairs team purpose is to earn trust by building advocacy. We do this through renewing our brand and reputation with our stakeholders, engaging internal and external stakeholders to inspire advocacy and deliver trusted insights to inform decisions. This will achieve our Corporate Affairs ambition to champion a purpose-led CBA.
Do work that matters
As a Senior Communications Manager in the CEO and Support Units Corporate Affairs team, you will have broad responsibilities covering communication planning and implementation for the CEO and group-wide initiatives, as well as communication support for the Group Executive Marketing and Corporate and Group Executive Group Strategy, and their respective support units.
Your day could look like but not limited to:

Lead, develop and execute internal and external communications strategies, campaigns and activities, across multiple channels, in line with brand and reputation, for the CEO and the MCA and Group Strategy Group Executives.

Develop and deliver collateral, including articles, announcements, key messages, questions and answers, briefings and speaking notes, to align and engage stakeholders with CBA’s purpose, strategy and culture.

Consult on business communications requirements and translate into engaging, clear and simple content solutions designed to inform and influence audiences, particularly regarding CBA’s ambitious customer goal of NPS +30.

Foster relationships with and collaborate with key stakeholders across the organisation to develop and deliver communications, events and campaigns for the Group, CEO, and MCA and Group Strategy Group Executives.

Work with the Business Partner to support the Group Executives and senior leaders of the MCA and Group Strategy support unit teams on communications initiatives that enable support unit strategies.

Support the Business Partner to monitor and recommend responses to the internal and external operating environment for potential issues, incidents and reputational risk.

Provide informed insights, advice and recommendations on performance of internal and external communications campaigns, identifying and responding to potential gaps and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Work across multiple projects and with colleagues across Corporate Affairs to ensure a coordinated approach to internal and external announcements and campaigns.

Lead managers and advisers who flow to work to deliver to a high standard and build their skills in communications planning and execution.

Manage key communication channels and establish performance indicators, measurement and reporting relating to communications activities to drive and track performance.
We’d love to hear from people who have:

Significant experience in corporate or public affairs, communications, media or an agency role developing, implementing and delivering internal and external communication campaigns and activities for a large business.

Advanced writing and storytelling skills and signficant experience writing for and on behalf of C-suite leaders.

Experience in leading internal communications, people and culture communications programs.

Experience in leading external communications activities including proactively and reactively interacting with media, peak bodies and other external stakeholders.

Advanced relationship management skills and experience in providing strategic counsel to senior business stakeholders. Strong business acumen combined with advanced verbal and written communication skills.

Experience working in or a strong interest in providing communications support to a technology or operations team.

A tertiary qualification in business, commerce, communications, journalism or a relevant discipline.
