About the Business Unit:
Redress Design and Delivery (RDD) is responsible for administering two redress schemes that acknowledge past harm, provide a range of support options for individuals who have experienced harm, and operate independently from the organisation responsible for causing the harm. It provides high-quality strategic policy advice and is responsible for administration and delivery of frontline services.
The RDD business unit administers the schemes via ‘scheme-based teams.' Each team consists of a Senior Manager, Team Leader, Principal Consultant, Senior Consultants, Senior Assessors and support staff. The Strategy and Operations team provide policy, compliance, monitoring and business support across all both schemes, in addition to providing these essential services to the Historical Forced Adoptions Redress Scheme, which is administered by the Victims Services Support and Reform Group (VSSR).
The Strategy and Operations function is responsible for strategic planning, policy and procedures, financial management, performance reporting, communications, stakeholder engagement and resource management to ensure efficient administration of multiple redress schemes.
About the Role:
In the role of the Senior Policy Officer, some of your duties will include:
- Developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, and guidelines for redress schemes, providing expert policy advice to management and stakeholders
- Researching, analysing, and preparing communicative materials, briefings and reports for executives to support decision-making and program improvements
- Leading the complaint management process, which will include stakeholder engagement, high-level briefing, along with complaint responses and coordinating the response through Government.

About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- A strong ability to formulate and communicate public policy options and recommendations while developing a clear narrative for the policies and business cases including clear problem definition and objectives
- An acute ability to engage with diverse stakeholders at various levels within government while exuding strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills to build and maintain productive relationships and facilitate collaboration.
- Comprehensive understanding of risk management principles and compliance requirements relevant to both small and large-scale projects in the public sector.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant area and significant experience working in Victorian Government . Experience working on redress, complaints, or support schemes is desirable.
