The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Manager, Strategy Implementation to provide a critical role within the Procurement and Property Services unit
About the Business Unit
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer, and stronger Victoria.
The Finance and Procurement business unit provides department-wide financial, procurement and workplace services through strategic leadership and setting the direction, policy, and processes, and partnering with the department to build capability.
Procurement and Property Services monitors and reports on procurement performance and manages several high-profile strategic projects to minimise procurement risk and support the delivery of value for money. It is also responsible for the effective operation and management of asset maintenance, fleet and property, and facilities management services across the department.
About the Role
The role leads the Strategy Implementation team which is responsible for delivering and implementing procurement and property strategy on behalf of the CPO. The role works closely with other Senior Managers in the business unit to drive delivery of the department's strategic objectives through provision of procurement and property services.
Some of your duties will include:
- Direct line management responsibility for staff in the Strategy Implementation team.
- Leading preparation and quality assurance of briefs relating to strategy and implementation in Procurement and Property Services.
- Lead the development of strategy for Procurement and Property Services.
- Provide high level and authoritative strategic advice, information and assistance to the CPO, departmental executives and senior managers on complex and commercially sensitive policy and technical matters.

- Strategic planning: Have a comprehensive understanding of external and internal issues that influence the strategic direction of the organisation and ensuring the overall strategic plan cascades to operational and team planning processes and performance plans.
- Business acumen: Drive a culture of value for money for the department.
- Project Management: Is a thought leader in project management with extensive experience of successful delivery of complex programs and projects in a government context.
Qualifications/requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management, contract management or service delivery is highly desirable.
- Experience / understanding of government procurement and policies will be highly desirable.
