Description:
As an APAC Legal Entity Accounting Lead, the successful candidate will own the end-to-end statutory reporting, audit process and controllership for a number of entities across Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Bangladesh and Cambodia. This role requires excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify and communicate risks to senior leadership across geographies and time zones.

Key job responsibilities:
- Leading annual financial statement preparation and audits across the region
- Reviewing IFRS financial reporting close
- Supporting business expansion and new launches across the region, ensuring that all financial reporting requirements are identified and supported
- Business partnering with other Amazon teams, including FP&A, Tax, Transfer Pricing, Public Relations and Business and Corporate Legal
- Demonstrating strong technical accounting acumen to be able to conclude on accounting treatment of new product launches, projects and transactions
- Collaborating with global Accounting teams to identify, develop and implement best practices that can be used globally
- Identifying, articulating and communicating project and accounting operation risks to leadership, along with clear recommendations for resolution or mitigation
Profile
Basic qualifications
* Experience with Workiva (or related platforms) essential
* Previous experience with Preparation of Financial Statements a must
* 7+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
* 5+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
* 5+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
* Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions
* CPA
* Bachelor's degree
Preferred qualifications
* 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
* 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
* Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
* Experience with Oracle, Essbase, TM1 and similar tools
* Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
Job Offer
Pay grade: Base range of $140k+, higher possible dependent on experience level and industry maturity
Start date - August 18, 2025
