About the Role
South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking a driven and compassionate Senior Wellbeing Officer to help lead and coordinate a dedicated multidisciplinary team delivering the HOPE (Hospital Outreach Post-suicidal Engagement) program.
This evidence-based service supports people aged 16 and over following a suicide attempt or during periods of acute suicidal distress.
As Senior Wellbeing Officer, you will work closely with the HOPE Team Leader and Manager to guide and support your team, ensuring the delivery of recovery-oriented, person-centred care that makes a real difference. You will provide short-term, high-impact support to help individuals and families find hope, stability, and meaningful connection.
This is a full-time, permanent role offering both flexibility and variety, including some work outside standard business hours (with rosters provided in advance).
Position Overview
- Employment Type : Permanent full-time (80 hours per fortnight) with a monthly Accrued Day Off (ADO)
- Location: Warrnambool Campus
- Classification: Welfare Worker Class 4
- Salary Range: $86,569.60 - $90,911.60, per annum, plus superannuation

What you bring
- A minimum 2 years experience in the social, community or welfare sector
- Diploma or higher qualification in social or community services
- Demonstrated experience supervising or coordinating teams
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- A trauma-informed, recovery-oriented approach to care
- Experience working with people in mental health crisis
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Competency in digital systems and clinical documentation
