The Role
The RF Sensing and EW Branch in Edinburgh is looking for an enthusiastic person to undertake analysis, develop algorithms and conduct research in support of integrated sensing and surveillance for the Australian Defence Force.
Using the strengths from your background, you will develop and assess novel processing techniques for automatic tracking, fusion and sensor tasking algorithms that can deliver improved exploitation of multi-sensor data.
As the ideal candidate, your passion to improve how integrated sensor systems operate today and your desire to innovate will contribute directly to programs within the ADF to improve their sensor surveillance capabilities.
You will have the opportunity to think critically and work in collaboration with ADF personnel, academia and industry. You will have access to world class radar research facilities onsite in Edinburgh to assist you in your research and development.
Under limited guidance, duties of the Integrated Sensing Specialist will include:
  • Undertake original research in multi-sensor tracking, fusion and sensor tasking algorithms to enable future integrated ISR capabilities for the ADF.
  • Transition innovative algorithms from offline research software to real-time operational demonstrations in our online development environment.
  • Work closely with industry members to ensure research is relevant, and to assist in the transition of organic R&D into the warfighter.
  • Engage and coordinate with our ADF clients to ensure work outcomes are aligned with Defence needs.
  • Work with others towards shared goals in a team environment.
  • Infrequent interstate travel will be required. Overseas travel may be required.
