About the role

DSL Port Hedland is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Planner/Scheduler to join our team.

Reporting to the Senior Planner, you will support the planning and scheduling in Fixed Plant, Mobile, Structural Integrity, Building & Housing weekly and shut maintenance activities.

Your duties will include:

  • Detail planning of work orders and assign resource requirement for approved non-urgent work.

  • Review work in scheduling period taking into consideration asset criticality, statutory work, warranty, repairable/rotable, severity and safety impact.

  • Review approved notifications, allocating initial priority for non-urgent tasks and provide feedback to originator on status of the notification.

  • Identify materials, tooling, equipment, and resources needed.

  • Continuous review of maintenance plan effectiveness in supporting the tactics.

  • Review parts readiness (long lead items in conjunction with Long Term Planner); trigger expediting of parts where required.

  • Identify any potential scope conflict and repackage the activities, amending duration of required down-time when necessary.

  • Identify all resource requirements, both internal and external.

  • Engage and arrange external contractors/suppliers and maintain availabilities.

  • Develop, finalise, and lock in executable schedules for weekly and shut maintenance (critical path, task interactions, labour requirements, materials, shared equipment, and tooling)

  • Liaise with execution leaders to confirm upcoming resource availability.

  • Prepare and conduct weekly and shut maintenance meetings.

  • Ensure resource utilisation and schedule loading are with-in targets.

  • Reconcile monthly spend to ensure adherence to plan and identify opportunities for cost reductions.

What you’ll bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • An ability to build strong relationships and uplift teams

  • Proven SAP experience, particularly in planning and scheduling.

  • Experience with executing, scheduling, or planning maintenance activities.

  • Exceptional communication & collaboration skills.

  • Able to be proactive, flexible, and work independently.

  • Highly organised individual with great record keeping.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Complex problem-solving skills and able to deliver solutions.

  • Use your considerable stakeholder and relationship building skills to prioritise work with the Supervisors, Superintendents, and external departments.

  • Understand & work with Long Term Planners in Zero Based Budget development.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to effectively influence, collaborate and negotiate.

  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

  • Current Australian C Class Driver’s License.

Dampier Salt Limited (DSL), located in Western Australia and comprising two solar operations – Dampier and Port Hedland – is the world’s largest exporter of seaborne salt, with capacity to produce approximately 7 million tonnes every year.

This role is a residential or FIFO role based in Port Hedland.
