About the role
Permanent part time opportunity to accurately assign specific morbidity and procedural classifications to episodes of care to meet the data reporting requirements of Queensland Health. Participate in Health Information Services related quality activities and participate in coder-clinician liaison to identify, raise and respond to clinical coding and documentation queries in order to improve the quality and timeliness of inpatient morbidity data and Activity Based Funding (ABF).
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
* Manage own continuous learning in clinical coding and ABF, keeping abreast of National and State clinical coding advice and participate in coder training and education when available.
* Under the direction of the Coding Educator, Coding Manager and other senior HIM staff, participate in the coding competency and coding education and training program.
* Develop an understanding, comply with and utilise procedures, policies, regulations and standards which impact upon the position, including human resource management requirements and practices such as workplace health and safety.
