The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) is Australia's independent expert regulator for health and safety, structural integrity, well integrity and environmental management for all offshore energy operations and greenhouse gas storage activities in Commonwealth waters, and in coastal waters where regulatory powers and functions have been conferred.
NOPSEMA also administers the functions of the Offshore Infrastructure Regulator (OIR), for the offshore renewables industry. This includes the regulation of work health and safety, infrastructure integrity, and environmental management for offshore renewable energy infrastructure activities.

Role:
NOPSEMA is currently seeking an experienced dynamic Executive Director with extensive experience in providing leadership and management in the operations of a regulatory organisation and/or a major hazard industry, including a strong background in understanding and managing operational risk across the lifecycle of assets and wells to join its Regulatory Operations Division in our Perth Office.

The key duties of the position include
Key responsibilities:
In managing the objectives and risk based regulatory approach, you will be responsible for leading and guiding the ongoing regulatory operations of the well integrity function and integration of the function into other Regulatory Operations Division lifecycle activities.
As an experienced senior leader who can drive a strategic and risk-based approach to regulating well integrity risk across industry, you will provide oversight of the use of regulatory powers to result in fair, consistent and defendable regulatory outcomes and lead the promotion, advice and influence activities to titleholders and industry across all well integrity and lifecycle topics including external representation and presentations.
You will work closely with the Deputy CEO - Regulatory Operations and other Executive Directors and Directors to plan and deliver activities, manage resources across the function and evolve the division.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced senior executive with significant demonstrated experience in an objectives and risk based regulatory industry including permissioning based documentation, where hazards, risks and controls are systematically assessed and documented.
You must be able to demonstrate the ability to lead change in raising the effectiveness and efficiency of well integrity regulatory operations and cultivate and enhance organisational health, including liaising effectively and collaboratively with colleagues and other organisations.
