Financial Accountant
Join a high-performing finance team driving business impact
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant for an initial temporary assignment to support end-to-end financial operations for our client based in Sydney CBD. You’ll play a key role in month-end close, financial reporting, tax compliance, and technical accounting, while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and timely month-end close , journals, and reconciliations
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in line with AASB standards
- Support tax compliance (IAS, BAS, FBT, income tax) across the group
- Maintain ledger accuracy through thorough reconciliations
- Oversee CAPEX tracking , fixed asset capitalisation, and reporting
- Contribute to cashflow management and treasury reporting
- Partner in internal/external audits , risk controls, and compliance
- Drive process improvement , automation, and data integrity
- Administer key finance systems (MS Dynamics, Power BI, Excel)
- Collaborate with and mentor junior team members, contributing to a positive team culture
About You
- CA/CPA qualified with strong experience in financial or management accounting
- Excellent knowledge of accounting standards (AASB, IFRS)
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Excel and reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI, Jet Reports)
- Experience with MS Dynamics is highly valued
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Experience in the retail sector is a bonus
