The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Behaviour Support Clinical Leader – Advanced (or above) to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity.

The Behaviour Support Clinical Leader plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities by assessing behaviours of concern and implementing tailored interventions. Their primary objective is to understand the underlying causes of challenging behaviours and develop strategies that promote positive change while upholding the individual’s rights and dignity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive assessment activities, including functional behaviour analysis, to identify factors influencing behaviours of concern.
  • Designing and implementing person-centred behaviour support plans that incorporate evidence-based strategies to address identified behaviours, that complies with the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission Behaviour Support Framework.
  • Working closely with individuals, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive support and effective implementation of behaviour support plans.
  • Ensuring best practice and NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission and NSW Restrictive Practice Authorisation regulations are understood and adhered to.
  • Supporting members of the team who require advice regarding written behaviour support plans.
  • Providing training, education and support to team members to reach or exceed billable targets.
  • Uphold ConnectAbility’s mission, values, and commitment to person-centred care.

About You

To thrive in this role, you’ll have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation counselling, social sciences, or related health/disability studies.
  • NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission BSP Accredited - Advanced (or above).
  • Behaviour support experience with children/young people.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead staff.
  • A genuine passion to lead the team through active participation and engagement.
  • Current NDIS Worker Check.
  • Current Working with Children Check for paid employment.
  • NDIS Worker Orientation module completion certificate.
  • Current drivers licence.
  • Current First Aid Certificate (including CPR).
