Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Collections Officer for an immediate 3-month temporary assignment, likely to be extended up to 6 months. This vital position sits within the 0–30 days collection bracket, focusing on relationship building and effective payment recovery while upholding the highest standards of customer service and compliance.
What You’ll Do:

• Proactively manage consumer loan accounts in early arrears (0–30 days).
• Build and sustain strong consumer relationships over the phone and via email.
• Negotiate mutually agreeable payment plans and resolve payment disputes with professionalism.
• Maintain detailed, accurate records of all customer interactions and account updates.
• Issue arrears notices and assist with the administration of direct debit adjustments and loan variations.
• Liaise with customers to rectify account discrepancies promptly and efficiently.
• Ensure strict compliance with the NCCP, Privacy Act, Trade Practices Act, and business policies.
• Complete all mandatory online training modules within timeframe requirements.
• Support the wider credit team with additional duties as directed.

About You:

• Previous experience in collections, accounts receivable, or finance administration is highly regarded.
• Knowledge of financial services regulatory frameworks and credit management best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-centric approach.
• Able to handle sensitive conversations with empathy, integrity, and professionalism.
• Organised and accurate in documentation and account management.
• Quick to adapt and comfortable in a dynamic, target-driven environment.
