Description:

The Investment Accountant will be responsible for both Treasury, Investment Operations and Tax, Financial Accounting etc. Specifically (but not limited to), the Investment Accountant will be responsible for the following:

  • Financial reporting, month end activities
  • Budgeting, forecasting
  • Trade management and reconciliation (trade input, matching and settlement) and act as the liaison between the custodian, brokers
  • Cash management, projections and reporting
  • Collateral management (futures and equity lending borrowing facilities)
  • FX hedge position management and reporting
  • Covenant monitoring and reporting (term loan borrowing facilities)
  • Unit pricing
  • Prepare and reconcile investment-related financial statements and reports.
  • Monitor and analyse portfolio performance to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage daily accounting tasks related to investments, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Support the implementation of new accounting systems or processes within the department.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with other teams to provide insights and resolve investment-related queries.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all investment activities
  • Tax reporting

Requirements:

A successful Investment Accountant should have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and strong Excel skills.
  • CA/CPA Qualified, Business Services experience within a CA or CPA Firm
  • Experience in investment accounting or financial reporting within the Financial Services industry ideal
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical capabilities.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Sound knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
