ABOUT WOOD & FORM CABINETS
Wood & Form are a well-established and growing cabinet making company based in Canning Vale, dedicated to delivering high-quality craftsmanship and exceptional service to clients. They are currently looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Cabinet Maker to join their team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Apprentice Cabinet Maker, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills in a hands-on environment. You will work closely with experienced craftsmen to create custom cabinetry and furniture pieces. This role is perfect for someone who is physically strong, eager to learn, and has a positive attitude towards work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Assist in the construction and assembly of custom kitchen, bathroom, laundry, and wardrobe cabinets
- Read and interpret plans, drawings, and cutting lists under supervision
- Operate basic tools and machinery such as saws, drills, and edge banders
- Help with measuring, cutting, and edging materials accurately
- Assist with onsite installations, including loading/unloading materials
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop and vehicle
- Work with various materials (e.g. laminate, melamine, timber veneer, hardware)
- Learn to use cabinet-making software and computers for design, quoting, and documentation (e.g. Mozaik, Cabinet Vision, or similar)
- Support team with packaging, deliveries, and general admin tasks as needed
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and instructions
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Show initiative and curiosity to grow their skills and knowledge
- Take pride in their work and consistently strive for accuracy and quality
- Be punctual, dependable, and have a strong work ethic
- Be physically fit and capable of handling materials and tools safely
- Be comfortable working with computers and cabinet making software, or be open to learning
- Have a genuine interest in the interior design, building, or cabinetry industry
REQUIREMENT
- White Card (Construction Induction Card)
- Manual driver’s license (or working towards one)
- Basic understanding of measurements and mathematics
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions carefully
- Friendly and easy to talk to, with good communication skills
HIGHLY DESIREABLE
- Previous experience in woodwork or related field
- Certificate II in Carpentry or Cabinet Making
- Familiarity with cabinet making software or CAD programs
