Carers NSW is the peak organisation for carers in NSW. We are a not-for-profit organisation connecting and empowering carers across NSW and improving their quality of life through activities, programs, training and policy advice. We advocate for carers of all ages and circumstances.

As the Carer Contact Officer, you will be responsible for answering Carer Gateway calls. This role will be required to assist with supporting carers by taking initial information, escalate any urgent calls and scheduling assessments for carers.

This is a part time contract position until 26 June 2026, working 30 hours per week.

Our ideal candidate should possess the following skills and attributes:

· Qualifications in Community Services, Business Administration or working towards tertiary qualifications in Social Work or other relevant discipline and/or ability to show demonstrated work experience relevant to the role

· Demonstrated experience in telephone support work and the ability to escalate calls as necessary

· Experience in customer service, reception or administration with a high level of professionalism and care

· Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively liaise with a wide cross section of people, including internal staff, partners, service providers and the wider community

· Understanding of intake, assessment and referral processes provided as part of a telephone information, support and planning process

· Intermediate computer skills, with use of CRM highly advantageous

· Understanding of and commitment to carer issues and needs

Salary and Benefits

The Salary is around $76k + super, pro rata for part time. Additional benefits include salary sacrificing benefits, flexible work arrangements, a highly supportive team environment, excellent training and development opportunities and health and wellness programs.
