About the role

Toyota Material Handling Australia is looking for an enthusiastic and self-driven trade qualified spray painter to work in our brand new state of the art facility located in Dandenong South.

You'll ideally be self-motivated, highly organised and driven, with a good personality and a great team player. You'll be passionate about the work you do and will be committed to producing high quality work at all times.

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor this position is responsible for carrying out a range of spray painting activities to customers’ forklifts and material handling equipment.

Other key aspects of the role include: -

  • Spray painting material handling equipment
  • Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of spray booth;
  • Preparation of products
  • Mixing and tinting paint
  • Colour matching
  • Application of special coatings
  • General housekeeping duties in line with Toyota 5S
  • Surface preparation of steel
  • Carrying out work allocated by the Workshop Supervisor in accordance with TMH’s quality standards;

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant trade qualification;
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in forklift or automotive spray painting;
  • Full understanding of WHS where you take pride in working safely and keeping your workstation clean
  • Sound communication skills;
  • Strong ability to work as part of team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Expertise in two-pack paint systems, preparation, application and coating thickness control
  • Ability to maintain paint stock levels and place requests to Workshop Supervisor
