About the role

As a Dispute Resolution Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing and resolving disputes under the No Fault Dispute Resolution Protocols and VCAT. You’ll act as the business client to TAC’s Legal team, lead strategic approaches to dispute resolution, and ensure client-centric, legally sound outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to influence claims processes, coach team members, and contribute to continuous improvement across the TAC.

About the Team

You’ll join our Dispute Resolution & Litigation Branch within the Resolutions group; a collaborative and high performing team committed to delivering just outcomes for clients. Reporting to the Manager, Dispute Resolution & Litigation, you’ll work closely with Dispute Resolution Officers, legal professionals, and internal/ external stakeholders to manage complex claims and drive strategic resolution initiatives. The team values integrity, empathy and innovation in navigating the legal landscape of transport accident claims.

What we’re looking for

Legal & Legislative Experience

You come with an understanding of the VCAT Act 1988, Transport Accident Act 1986, and the TAC’s No Fault Dispute Protocols, and have proven experience in managing disputes within a legislative or insurance framework.

Strategic & Critical Thinking

You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to formulate and implement dispute resolution strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement & Coaching

Demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members along with highly effective stakeholder management and communication skills, with a client centric approach.
