About the role
The Technical Writer is a pivotal senior role within the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) CEO's Office, crafting high-quality written materials that effectively communicate strategic initiatives and technical programs across the ARDC’s strategic pillars and business units.
In this position, you will lead the development of a range of written materials from conception, research and drafting, through to final publication. These include white papers, reports, briefing documents, funding proposals and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
You will:

prepare high-impact materials including funding bids, position papers, and technical resources to support national adoption of research infrastructure across government, academia, and industry;

collaborate with subject matter experts to interpret and integrate diverse bodies of knowledge;

manage multi-stream documentation projects, balancing priorities, identifying risks, and implementing solutions; and
-
conduct strategic research and environmental scanning to inform documentation priorities and support ARDC’s positioning within the national research data landscape.
About you
You will possess extensive senior experience in leading and delivering strategic technical writing initiatives with research, technology or data focus organisations. You will have advanced project management skills, with demonstrated ability to meet multiple priorities and deadlines in a complex and rapidly changing environment.
You will possess:

advanced written communication skills with a proven ability to produce high-impact documentation;

demonstrated ability to apply analytical and strategic thinking to identify and resolve complex project challenges;

strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills; and

deep understanding of data governance, digital research infrastructure, and policy frameworks.
