Your role at St John of God Ballarat
We are seeking applications for an Occupational Therapist (Grade 1 or 2) to join our Allied Health team on a permanent full-time basis.
You will join a small supportive team of mixed disciplines and levels who can provide a great level of mentoring and supervision for Graduates and Grade 1s. Our areas of speciality include inpatient & outpatient rehabilitation, orthopaedics, surgical, general medicine, oncology and ICU (opportunities for rotations available).
Shifts will be rostered Monday to Friday 7.30am/8am to 3:30pm/4pm .
The Position
-
Provide direct occupational therapy services to clients/patients and or carers on an individual or group level for both inpatients and outpatients. Completion of comprehensive patient assessment (e.g. assessment of personal care, domestic and community ADLs, assessment of the home environment, cognitive and functional physical assessment as required).

Provision of a comprehensive treatment intervention and appropriate progression treatment to match functional goals.

Coordinate the provision of special aids and equipment requirements of patients if required to assist with functioning

Provide consultation and support to medical, nursing, catering and allied health professionals within the Division as appropriate.
To succeed you will have proficient knowledge & skills in assessment, treatment and evaluation within Occupational Therapy practice, effective verbal and written communication skills and able to work independently and within a team.
Successful applicants will have a tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current valid driver’s licence.

Salary Grade 1: $70,866 to $97,980 plus 12% Superannuation

Permanent full-time, working 38 hours per week. Part-time opportunities considered and hours will be negotiated with successful candidates
