About the role:

We are looking for an experienced SMSF Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in our Melbourne SMSF division, working closely with passionate professionals on a wide range of funds. If you have strong superannuation technical skills, a solid background in SMSF accounting, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively, this could be the next opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare SMSF workpapers and financial statements in accordance with current legal and accounting standards.

  • Liaise with the SMSF auditor, addressing queries as they arise.

  • Ensure SMSF’s comply with regulations relating to investments, transactions, and loans.

  • Prepare documents for client meetings and assist during meetings as required.

  • Manage workflow to ensure timely lodgements for income tax, GST, and transfer balance account reporting.

About you:

You are an experienced detail-oriented SMSF Accountant with a passion for delivering high-quality financial outcomes. You thrive in a collaborative environment but are also capable of working autonomously to meet deadlines. With excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail, you are committed to ensuring compliance and accuracy in all aspects of SMSF accounting.

Experience and Attributes:

Essential:

  • A degree in Business/Commerce with an accounting major.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.

  • Proficiency with Class Super.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Technically sound in all aspects of SMSF administration and compliance.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Desirable :

  • CA qualification or working towards completion.

  • SMSF specialist course completed or in progress.
