Accounts Clerk

Position Summary:
The Accounts Clerk will manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records for the motel, conference facilities, restaurant, coffee shop, and bar operations. This role supports the management team by ensuring efficient financial processes, compliance with reporting standards, and smooth cash flow management for all business areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Process accounts payable and receivable for all departments (motel, restaurant, coffee shop, bar, and conference room).
Prepare and issue invoices, receipts, and payment records for accommodation, food & beverage, and event services.
Reconcile daily cash, EFTPOS, and credit card transactions from multiple outlets.
Maintain accurate bookkeeping records in accounting software (e.g.QuickBooks).
Assist with monthly bank reconciliation and financial reporting.
Monitor petty cash and maintain expense records across all business units.
Payroll & Compliance:
Assist with payroll preparation for motel, restaurant, bar, and coffee shop staff.
Maintain staff timesheets and leave records
Support preparation of BAS, GST, and other regulatory reports.
Management Support:
Provide daily, weekly, and monthly revenue and expense summaries to management.
Assist in budget preparation and cost-control measures for all operations.
Liaise with suppliers and manage vendor accounts, ensuring timely payments and reconciliations.
Support the conference/events team with invoicing and tracking deposits for bookings.
Administrative & Customer Service:
Respond to guest and supplier queries regarding accounts and payments.
Maintain confidentiality of financial and customer data.
Assist in internal audits and preparation of financial documents for external auditors or accountants.
Skills & Qualifications:
Certificate III/IV or Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, preferably in hospitality or accommodation.
Familiarity with PMS (Property Management Systems) and POS (Point of Sale) integration is desirable.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Good communication and organizational skills.

Employment Type: Full-time (38 hours per week).

Salary Range: $65,000 - 75,000 a year
Reporting To: Business Manager / Owner
