About This Opportunity

As the Business Change Lead for the University’s Salesforce CRM implementation of its fundraising and engagement portfolio, you will spearhead the development and execution of change management strategies that ensure successful transformation and adoption of new processes, systems, and approaches alongside, sustained use of new technologies. You thrive in complex environments, collaborating closely with diverse stakeholders to drive the achievement of desired business outcomes. You will be skilled at maximising user engagement, minimising change resistance and hesitancy, ensuring readiness, and delivering capability through your work. Your expertise in organisational transformation, strong communication skills, and ability to coach technical and business leaders will be vital in embedding new ways of working and achieving the University’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:

Strategic Alignment & Planning

  • Develop comprehensive change management strategies aligned with the business objectives and necessary approaches, timelines, and resourcing required for successful transformation

  • Integrate change activities into the overall program plan and governance.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Identify and manage stakeholders, considering UQ’s complex structure.

  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their buy-in throughout the transformation process.

Impact Assessment & Readiness

  • Assess and analyse change impact and complete relevant plans.

  • Evaluate user readiness and take actions to support adoption.

Communication & Training

  • Develop and manage communication strategies and program collateral to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.

  • Identify training needs and coordinate development and delivery of training.

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Define success metrics and monitor progress, implementing corrective action to ensure successful transformation.

  • Track risks, issues, and change adoption levels.

Sustainability & Support

  • Develop implementation and handover plans for long-term change reinforcement.

  • Champion change agility and continuous improvement.

Leadership & Capability Building

  • Promote a culture of change and adaptability within the organisation by coaching leaders and managers in leading change.

  • Mentor others and contribute to organisational change capability.

Organisational Environment

Working in The Division of Information Technology Services (ITS) , This role will collaborate closely with key stakeholders within the Advancement & Community Engagement (ACE) division to transform the ACE technology ecosystem in alignment with UQ’s strategic objectives. Advancement and Community Engagement (ACE) leads UQ’s social impact-focused portfolio. This includes oversight of philanthropic partnerships, The Queensland Commitment, global alumni engagement, community engagement and events, and relationship management systems and services.

Throughout its history, The University of Queensland (UQ) has benefited from the support of its alumni and community through engagement, volunteering and philanthropic support. The St Lucia campus rests on land gifted through the Mayne siblings and the School of Veterinary Science continues to use farmland at Pinjarra Hills, donated to the University in the early 1920s. Today, the University continues to prioritise the importance of Advancement and Community Engagement (ACE), including the successful delivery of UQ’s first comprehensive campaign, Not if, When – The Campaign to Create Change. When closed in 2020 the campaign had far exceeded its goal of $500M, raising $607M from 16,643 donors across 16 countries.

About You

Essential Criteria

  • Qualifications : Postgraduate qualifications (or near completion) in change management, project management, business, or equivalent experience.

  • Change Management Expertise : Proven success in leading change within large-scale IT programs, with a focus on people, processes, and culture.

  • Stakeholder Engagement : Strong ability to influence and coach senior leaders in complex environments, ideally in higher education.

  • C ommunication Skills : Skilled in crafting and delivering communication strategies across diverse audiences and channels.

  • Results-Driven : Proactive, self-motivated, and outcome-focused, with strong teamwork and independent work capabilities.

  • Digital Literacy : Proficient in tools like Microsoft Office, Teams, Jira, SharePoint, Canva, Power BI, and change management platforms (e.g., ADKAR).

  • Resilience & Empathy : High emotional intelligence and ability to support others through change.

  • Capability Building : Experience mentoring and fostering a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement.

  • Evaluation Skills : Ability to define success metrics, monitor adoption, and evaluate change effectiveness.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with Salesforce or CRM implementations .

  • Experience in the higher education sector .

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check, etc.
