Description:

Location: Any major Aurizon locations in QLD / NSW

Remuneration: $104,910 -$119,964

Are you passionate about improving the performance and lifecycle of physical assets? We're looking for a practical, data-savvy asset or facilities professional who’s ready to bring smarter, more efficient thinking to the way we manage our regional operational depots.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in asset or facilities management who enjoys working with data, identifying trends, and advising stakeholders — without needing to be constantly on the road.

About the role: You’ll play a key role in strategically managing a portfolio of operational depot assets, with a focus on asset lifecycle, maintenance optimisation, and cost efficiency. While you won’t directly manage on-site works, you’ll provide critical insights, advice, and oversight to support regional leaders and help guide investment decisions based on asset condition and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide the development and implementation of asset management strategies, systems, and governance frameworks
  • Analyse asset performance and maintenance data to support lifecycle decisions and proactive planning
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and more efficient asset maintenance practices
  • Support regional teams with advice on asset replacement timing, risk management, and optimisation
  • Provide relevant reporting and metrics to track asset health and support strategic investment decisions
  • Work with stakeholders to align facilities asset management practices with broader organisational objectives

About you: You’re someone who enjoys solving problems, thinking practically, and looking for ways to improve existing systems. You’re comfortable working with data, liaising with different teams, and providing meaningful insights that lead to smarter decisions.

You’ll have:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in facilities, operational or asset management
  • Understanding of lifecycle asset planning and infrastructure maintenance
  • Tertiary qualifications in facilities, engineering, asset management or a related field (preferred, not essential)
  • Strong skills in data analysis, reporting and continuous improvement
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement, particularly in operational or regional settings
  • High level of communication, influence, and collaboration skills

What we offer you:

At Aurizon, we support the development and growth of our employees. With a national portfolio of operations, we offer long-term and exciting career opportunities.

Some of our benefits include:

  • Development and growth opportunities.
  • Access to mentoring and development programs.
  • Discounts on selected health insurance funds, personal travel, gyms, vehicles and retail brands.
  • Parental leave program and super booster.
