What we are looking for:
Are you an experienced HR professional ready to make a real impact in local government? We're seeking two skilled Senior HR Business Partners to join our high-performing team, with a strong focus on industrial relations. This is a fantastic opportunity to influence organisational culture, tackle complex challenges, and contribute to meaningful outcomes in a fast-paced, purpose-led setting.
What your day will look like:
- Partnering with both supervisors and managers to understand and support their strategic priorities
- Providing comprehensive and technical advice to all of Council on a range of matters including employment relationship matters
- Interpreting industrial agreements, legislation, and relevant internal policies
- Providing advice on position departmental restructure requests
- Conducting workplace investigations
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and ensuring an effective level of service
- Ensuring Human Resource compliance and governance

What you’ll need for success:
You’ll bring strong experience across the HR function and the confidence to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including providing trusted advice to senior leaders. While local government experience is a bonus, it’s your ability to navigate complex people matters with professionalism and insight that will set you apart.
You’ll have:
- Working knowledge of Industrial and employee relations
- Strong organisational and time management skills, able to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- A high level of computer literacy with the ability to learn council systems
