Job Title: Hotel/Motel Manager

Position Summary:
The Hotel/Motel Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the motel, including guest services, front office, housekeeping, food and beverage outlets (restaurant, coffee shop, bar), and the on-site conference facilities. The role ensures smooth business operations, high guest satisfaction, effective staff management, and compliance with financial and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Services & Front Office:
Manage daily front office operations, including reservations, check-ins, and check-outs.
Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests to ensure a high standard of customer service.
Develop and implement strategies to increase bookings and occupancy rates.
Operations Management:
Oversee the motel’s accommodation services, conference room bookings, restaurant, coffee shop, and bar operations.
Coordinate with department heads (kitchen, housekeeping, F&B) to ensure smooth service delivery.
Monitor and maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and safety throughout the property.
Staff Management:
Recruit, train, roster, and supervise staff across all departments.
Conduct regular staff meetings, performance evaluations, and training programs.
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety and Fair Work legislation.
Financial & Administrative:
Prepare and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and control expenses.
Oversee accounts payable/receivable, daily cash flow, and payroll in conjunction with the Accounts Clerk.
Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote accommodation and F&B outlets.
Ensure compliance with licensing, taxation, and DAMA sponsorship requirements.
Food & Beverage/Conference Coordination:
Work with Cafe/Restaurant Manager to maintain consistent quality in food and beverage service.
Assist in planning and executing conferences, events, and catering services.
Ensure customer satisfaction for both in-house guests and external event clients.
Skills & Qualifications:
Diploma/Degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent experience.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in hotel/motel or hospitality management.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Knowledge of Property Management Systems (PMS) and Point of Sale (POS) software.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple departments simultaneously.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
