Start your career in tourism with this entry-level course. This course will qualify you to work across a number of strong-growth industries such as tourism, business and events. You will have the skills to seek employment as a tour coordinator or tourism assistant.
This course will give you the skills you need to provide advice on domestic destinations, customer service, provide visitor information, prepare and delivery commentaries, financial transactions, workplace health & safety and cultural sensitivity.
Successful completion of this course will qualify you to become an inbound tour coordinator, tourism assistant, tour guide or visitor information officer. It will also give you the foundation knowledge to undertake further studies in either tourism, events, or business.

About the Role:
As a Tourism Trainee, you will:
- Assist in the daily operations of the visitor centre and tourism events
- Provide high-quality customer service to visitors and guests
- Support promotional and marketing activities
- Learn about local attractions, culture, and tourism services
What We’re Looking For:
- A friendly, enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn
- A strong interest in tourism, events and hospitality
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Must be eligible to undertake a traineeship (no prior Cert III or higher in Tourism)
Eligibility Requirements:
This position is funded under a formal traineeship arrangement. Applicants must:
- Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold an eligible visa
- Not have completed a Certificate III or higher in the same field
- Be committed to completing the full term of the traineeship
