Interventional Cardiologist – Launceston General Hospital, Tasmania Launceston, TAS | Public + Optional Private Practice | Up to $310K + Allowances + PPSJoin a high-performing and rapidly expanding Cardiology Department at Launceston General Hospital (LGH), Tasmania. This is a rare opportunity to work within a state-wide 24/7 cardiac service , with an impressive volume of complex coronary and structural heart procedures, and strong public and private sector integration.
The Opportunity We are seeking a Fellowship-trained Interventional Cardiologist to join a friendly and well-supported cardiology team at LGH. You’ll be working in a collaborative unit of 7 cardiologists and 3 advanced trainees , with access to:
- A high-volume cardiac catheterisation lab (2000+ procedures/year, 500+ PCIs)
- Complex coronary interventions and structural heart work
- State-of-the-art facilities with two new cath labs planned under the Northern Heart Centre development
- Optional private practice sessions at Calvary St Vincent’s private cath lab
- Permanent position , up to 76 hours per fortnight (flexible FTE options available)
- Public hospital base salary:
- Specialist Medical Practitioner : $216,300 – $296,640
- Senior Specialist : $300,389 – $310,389

- Private Patient Scheme (PPS) up to 35% of base + on-call OR in-lieu allowance
- Additional benefits may include :
- Fully maintained private vehicle or $28,786 vehicle allowance
