The Opportunity
At Mipac, as a Senior Control Systems Engineer, you’ll gain exposure to large-scale, complex projects and have opportunities to travel internationally; whether to Africa, South America, or wherever the project takes you. Beyond enhancing your own technical capability through diverse project work, you’ll play a key role in building capability within the teams you work with by sharing knowledge, mentoring others, and contributing to a culture of technical excellence.
Your Responsibilities
- Control System Design: Design, develop, and implement control systems solutions for mining, mineral processing, and other projects, ensuring they meet engineering standards and client requirements.
- Technical Proficiency: Use broad knowledge and skills to resolve complex engineering problems.
- Technical Leadership: Take ownership of control system aspects within projects. Where required, develop, review, and approve project deliverables.
- Documentation: Independently produce technical documentation including reports, specifications, procedures, and manuals to a high standard.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication, project alignment, and successful outcomes.
- Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers, fostering their professional growth within the company, including supervising and reviewing their work.
- Site and Commissioning Support: Participate in unaccompanied site visits and commissioning activities to ensure control systems operate as intended in real-world environments.
What Do We Need From You?
- An Engineering degree or similar tertiary qualifications
- A willingness and readiness to travel nationally and internationally, embracing diverse project landscapes. The travel duration will be dependent on the project.
- Experience in mining and mineral processing projects/operations
- Demonstrated proficiency to work independently on control systems project work
- Experience with generating and interpreting engineering documents such as functional descriptions, alarm registers, C&E matrix, commissioning plans, and inspection test plans.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, essential for seamless interaction with clients and team members.
- An interest in mentoring and developing other Engineers.
