Description:
The Senior Program Officer will lead with experience and ability to interpret and apply a strong knowledge of building standards, codes and practices that will ensure success in co-ordinating state-wide support for property asset management functions.Through partnerships, the Social Housing Delivery Office provide and influence the provision of safe, secure, affordable, and appropriate housing to the people of Queensland, and the building of vibrant and connected precincts and communities in which they live.
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop and maintain effective linkages with internal staff, other work units, government and non-government partners and stakeholders to ensure that identified service needs and issues are reflected in policies, procedures and other resources that are consistent with legislation and departmental plans and priorities.
- Provide high level analysis, advice and plans on innovative approaches to managing delivery of asset management services including new trends and business processes that support the planning and direction of portfolio management strategies.
- Manage the development, implementation and delivery of property asset management programs and other property management initiatives. including manage renewal/refurbishment programs in line with neighbourhood level planning.
- Apply knowledge of contemporary building products, current Australian Standards and Building Codes when providing technical advice and property solutions in relation to buildings and structures.
- Coordinate and facilitate the department's response in relation to incidents involving property insurance processes (i.e., natural disaster, fire, theft and flood).
- Assess works for value for money and administer approval processes for projects in accordance with departmental financial delegations.
- Assist and provide ongoing support to service areas and agencies regarding overall property asset management functions through avenues such as undertaking information sessions.
- Conduct audits and reviews on property condition data and conditional appraisals, as well as the processes and procedures associated with these tasks.
