Description:

As the AO3 Communications Officer, you will provide essential support to the Communications and Stakeholder Management (CSM) team across planning, pre-construction, and construction phases. Your work will include creating clear, engaging communication materials, managing stakeholder queries, and maintaining project updates. By taking ownership of these tasks, you'll help senior team members focus on complex and high-priority issues, ensuring projects run smoothly and stakeholders stay informed.

  • Draft and edit high quality communications materials including flyers, social media posts, newsletters, and web content
  • Develop and maintain project webpages and The Hive platform, ensuring timely and accurate updates
  • Prepare engagement reports and analytics to measure communication effectiveness
  • Manage correspondence trackers and respond to stakeholder queries promptly
  • Source stakeholder contact details and property information, updating spreadsheets and consultation systems
  • Assist Program Engagement Officers in stakeholder meetings and community engagement activities
  • Respond to calls on the 1800 number, providing clear and professional communication for low-level inquiries



Coordinate distribution of project flyers and engagement materials across multiple channels

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and engaging content
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and confidence working with web content management systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and build positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Problem-solving skills and initiative to manage tasks independently
  • Previous experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, or a similar role is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of government processes and infrastructure projects will be an advantage



Conditions:

  • Contract until August 2026
  • Townsville
  • A03 level ( 50-$58 p/h)
