Job Description

We are currently seeking a Casual Commis Chef to join the professional and dynamic kitchen team. As a Commis Chef you will get to work within a dynamic hotel F&B operation across breakfast, lunch & dinner, helping to create memorable culinary moments for our guests.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Prepare and present menu items showing variety and flair, within the cost margins specified by the hotel.
  • Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage. Have stock control procedures implemented and maintained.
  • Keep all working areas clean and tidy including washing dishes and kitchen cleaning. Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced and cleaned. Report any problems to the Head Chef

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you should demonstrate:

  • Trade qualification and experience in a similar role, preferably within a hotel or restaurant environment - experience in dinner service required.
  • Excellent technical knowledge with experience in a variety of cooking techniques and styles.
  • Exemplary communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to maintain high and consistent standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain food safety standards and understanding of HACCP.
