Purpose
The Material Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the construction team by ensuring timely availability and delivery of materials for project execution. This position involves close collaboration with internal procurement, production, and warehouse teams to maintain smooth material flow and meet project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between the construction team and internal departments (Procurement, Production, Warehousing) to coordinate material requirements for projects.
- Review project schedules and ensure material availability aligns with construction timelines.
- Track material orders and deliveries, resolving any issues that could impact project progress.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements and inventory levels.
- Monitor material usage and report against project and operational metrics.
- Support internal teams in forecasting and planning material needs for upcoming projects.
- Identify and escalate potential material shortages or delays to minimize project risks.
- Contribute to process improvements in material coordination and inventory management.
Key relationships: Dealers and partners across Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
Education, Work Experience & Skills required, Personal Qualities (Selection Criteria)
Education:
- Relevant certifications are highly regarded, such as Certificate IV in Supply Chain Operations or Procurement & Contracting, or other inventory, logistics, or materials management qualifications.
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Construction Management, or a related field advantageous
Work Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 3 years previous experience in material coordination, supply chain, or project support within a construction or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of material planning and inventory control processes.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Production, Warehousing, and Project Delivery.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of construction project workflows and material requirements.

Additional Requirements
Proficient in English , with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written formats, including technical discussions, reporting, documentation, and correspondence with colleagues and clients. Capable of understanding complex instructions, participating in meetings, and preparing detailed reports or presentations.
