About The Role

As a Guidance Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational, social, and emotional wellbeing of students at Mountain Creek State High School. You will work collaboratively with the student services team to develop and implement programs that focus on preventative and early intervention strategies, helping students achieve positive outcomes and build resilience.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Providing counselling, psychoeducational assessments, and individual support to students, teachers, and parents on educational, behavioural, and mental health matters.
  • Collaborating with parents, school staff, and external agencies to deliver comprehensive support and case management services.
  • Developing and implementing programs that address students' personal, social, emotional, and educational needs.
  • Conducting assessments to identify learning difficulties, disabilities, or emotional challenges and recommending appropriate interventions.
  • Supporting the implementation of student protection, behaviour support, and risk management policies, including individualised student plans.

About You

  • Strong counselling and interpersonal skills to support students, parents, and staff effectively.

  • Proficiency in conducting assessments and developing tailored educational and behavioural interventions.
