As our Avionics Technician , you’ll assemble, integrate, and test the electrical and electronic systems that bring our vehicles to life—fabricating wire harnesses and installing sensors, batteries, COTS avionics (e.g., flight computers), and communications hardware. Every connection you make is mechanically robust, electrically sound, and ready for flight.

What You’ll Do

  • Build high-quality and reliable wire harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Contribute to the design of wire harnesses, including production of 2D wiring diagrams.
  • Install and route harnesses, sensors, actuators and other avionics hardware into the vehicle structure.
  • Partner closely with Engineering on prototype manufacture and test.
  • Perform in-process inspection, testing and verification of flight hardware and clear, precise documentation.
  • Follow and continuously improve procedures and work instructions; log issues in the shop floor MES.
  • Uphold all shop floor processes for safety, cleanliness, tool control and FOD control.
  • Support inventory management for vehicle production including assembly of BOM kits.

What you’ll bring (must-haves)

  • Certificate IV / Diploma / Apprenticeship in a relevant field e.g., Aeroskills – Avionics.
  • Circa 3 years’ experience in in avionics, robotics, or high-end medical device assembly.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic systems and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in high-reliability, quality-driven manufacturing. Aerospace or Defence experience highly regarded.
  • Ownership mindset with consistent delivery under time pressure; exceptional attention to detail.
  • Confident problem solver who can turn ambiguity into clear, actionable steps.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, evolving environment while maintaining a constructive and proactive approach.
  • Ability to obtain any applicable security clearance or background checks.
  • Right to live and work in Australia.

It would be great if you also have (nice-to-haves)

  • Demonstrated skill in harness fabrication and electro-mechanical prototyping.
  • Proficiency reading electrical schematics, wire lists, and 2D harness drawings.
  • Competence with precision crimpers, wire strippers, soldering stations, and heat guns.
  • Awareness of lithium-ion battery hazards.
  • Experience working in EPAs / cleanrooms and related protocols.
  • Experience with advanced manufacturing systems (e.g., 5S, lean six-sigma)
  • MAML certification.
