Rangers ensure that Queensland’s national parks, state forests and reserves are protected, accessible and valued by all Queenslanders. Rangers work in partnership with local communities and other stakeholders to contribute to the land management, recreational and conservation outcomes across the protected areas. This role is heavily involved with the future of fire management in South-West Region. You will be a member of the team that is responsible for developing fire strategies for our protected areas, as well as being involved in the development of burn plans, key values assessments, monitoring and policy reviews. You will also be required to respond to bushfires and assist with planned burns.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Displays a keen interest in coordinating and leading prescribed burning, fuel reduction and wildfire response
  • Exhibits strong organisational skills and the capacity to handle multiple tasks with precision.
  • Ability to support and share skills with a diverse group of people
