Description:
The Finance Manager role will be supported by one report and have a rounded remit. The role would ideally be based in Gladstone, but could be covered from Brisbane with some monthly travel (a few days per month). Core responsibilities include:
- Oversee the organisation's financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting (including around grants and funding).
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Prepare detailed financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage cash flow and develop strategies to optimise financial performance.
- Collaborate with other departments to align financial planning with organisational goals.
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making by senior management.
- Supervise and mentor a small finance team to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Work with auditors to ensure smooth and timely audits.
Requirements:
A successful Finance Manager should have:
- A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification such as CPA or CA.
- Strong expertise in financial management within the not-for-profit industry.
- Demonstrated ability to work with financial systems and software.
- Excellent knowledge of Australian accounting standards and compliance requirements.
- Strong communication skills to present financial insights effectively.
- A proactive approach to identifying and solving financial challenges.
