Parliamentary Chamber and Education Services is seeking a professional and motivated Team Leader – Chamber and Tours to join our team. This role plays a key part in supporting the Legislative Assembly during parliamentary sittings while delivering engaging public and school tours across the historic Parliamentary Precinct.
Key Objectives
- Provide effective support services in the Legislative Assembly Chamber.
- Deliver high‑quality public and student tours, including interactive educational experiences.
- Provide administrative support to the Parliamentary Education and Liaison Team.
- Support the Parliamentary reception team when required.
- Assist with the smooth operation of the Chamber by providing timely and accurate support during parliamentary sittings.
- Lead and deliver informative tours for school groups, community members, and visitors, ensuring a positive, engaging, and educational experience.
- Train, induct, and provide ongoing development and support to new and existing team members, ensuring consistent service delivery and high performance.
- Prepare tour materials, coordinate bookings, and support the development of educational activities.
- Provide administrative support for Chamber and Education Services, including documentation, correspondence, and scheduling.
- Support reception operations by welcoming visitors, responding to enquiries, and upholding security and protocol requirements.
- Contribute to broader Parliamentary Services projects, providing additional administrative support as required.
- Well‑developed oral communication skills and confidence presenting to diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities.
- Capability to conduct tours and work effectively within the Legislative Assembly Chamber environment.
- Demonstrated ability using computer systems including email, internet, word processing, and spreadsheets - or the ability to become proficient within a reasonable period.
- Thorough knowledge of Parliamentary procedures or the ability to acquire this knowledge.
- Ability to build, nurture, and maintain a cohesive team culture that encourages collaboration and connection.
