About The Role
We are currently seeking two experienced candidates to join our team as Deckhands on a fixed-term contract. This is your chance to create memorable guest experiences through exceptional guest service delivery and vessel operations.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation of the vessels for transportation
- Safe securing and departure of vessels
- Safety and comfort of all guests
- Conducting rescue and lookout duties
- Assist with food service and daily cleaning duties
- In-water rescue and lookout duties for guests
- Ensuring high-quality service delivery
The ideal candidate will be motivated and possess a passion for sharing special places and creating lasting memories. You will be a team player with a demonstrated positive 'can-do' attitude, comfortable working on water with extensive deckhand experience, and committed to delivering high-quality, professional guest service while proudly representing Cruise Whitsundays.
To be successful in this role, you should have the following attributes:
- Reliability and self-motivation with a proactive approach, allowing you to adapt to various situations and ensure a positive guest experience
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in Marine Operations, with demonstrated deck skills and a strong understanding of marine and tourism environments
- Intermediate to advanced swimming skills, along with the ability to work effectively within a team while maintaining high levels of marine safety and compliance, ensuring all training and certificates are up to date
- Hold a minimum of GPH or higher
- Blue Card/ Working with Children's Check
- HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid
- HLTAID015 - CPR & Advanced Oxygen Therapy;
