Your role
Key Responsibilities Include
- Lead the development and implementation of the department's School Based Salaries budget and associated costing methodologies, based on interpretation and understanding of workforce management and industrial relations policies impacting on the department's workforce.
- Lead the activities associated with the administration of appropriations and allowances to state and non-state schools, parents and other external organisations.
- Proactively engage with stakeholders, clients and staff to identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve the services, information and tools provided by School Financial Resourcing.
- Provide analysis and advice on organisational and business unit financial and budgetary performance including input into the department's monthly business report.
- Undertake complex research activities and prepare submissions, reports and briefing materials for senior officers and executives.
- Liaise and negotiate with key stakeholders regarding financial and workforce policies, procedures and practices that contribute to improved workforce resource allocation and financial management within the department.
- Provide expert authoritative advice and analysis to senior management about financial drivers behind workforce costs within timeframes that are critical to this role.
- Supervise, appraise and monitor the performance of staff and provide direction and development to ensure operational effectiveness.
- Actively participate in the building of organisational capabilities and professional expertise within and outside the department including the development and maintenance of professional knowledge and skills.
