Bailey Abbott have an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst to join our Data Intelligence capability. Our Data Intelligence specialists work within an active community of practice, enabling you to benefit from their years of collective experience and wisdom.

This role sits at the intersection of business analysis and technical delivery , requiring strong stakeholder engagement, requirements validation, and the ability to translate business needs into analytical and technical specifications.

You will work alongside consultants, data engineers, and client stakeholders to ensure analytical solutions are aligned to business objectives and deliver measurable value.

Working as a Data Analyst you will get the opportunity to:

• Engage with client stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and validate business requirements
• Facilitate workshops and discussions to clarify objectives, assumptions, constraints, and success measures
• Translate business problems into well-defined analytical questions and hypotheses
• Document business requirements, use cases, and acceptance criteria in a clear and structured manner
• Act as a trusted advisor, bridging the gap between business users and technical teams
• Analyse structured and semi-structured data to identify trends, patterns, and insights
• Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical outputs that clearly communicate findings to non-technical audiences
• Validate data sources and ensure data quality, integrity, and relevance to business needs
• Support the interpretation of results and provide actionable recommendations
• Convert business requirements into functional and technical specifications for data engineers and developers
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure solutions align with agreed requirements
• Support solution design by defining metrics, calculations, and data logic
• Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) by validating outputs against business expectations
  
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role (ideally in a consulting or client-facing environment)
• Strong business analysis skills, including requirements gathering, validation, and documentation
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical or analytical specifications
• Solid analytical capability, including experience with data querying and analysis (e.g. SQL, Excel)
• Experience presenting insights and recommendations to business stakeholders
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with BI and visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
