Hancock Energy has a full-time opportunity for an experienced Senior Finance Systems & Reporting Accountant to join a team supporting onshore oil and gas projects throughout Western Australia.
This opportunity is within the Finance team reports into the CFO.
As Senior Finance Systems & Reporting Accountant, you’ll play a critical role in optimising and maintaining Hancock Energy’s finance systems and supporting the budgeting and reporting processes. Acting as the bridge between Finance and the business, you’ll drive efficiency through system improvements and process automation and a strong focus on data integrity to support informed decision-making and organisational performance.
Key accountabilities:
- Administer and maintain core finance systems (Acumatica), ensuring stability, accuracy, and alignment with business needs.
- Contribute to finance systems projects, including implementations, integrations, and automation initiatives, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Execute system upgrades and configuration changes and contribute to roadmap planning in collaboration with vendors and stakeholders.
- Establish and deliver the budgeting and forecasting policy, process and procedures including developing the relevant templates and consolidated budget reports.
- Undertake meaningful analysis of budget and forecast versions and produce accurate and meaningful representation of the budget and forecast at departmental, tenement and consolidated levels.
- Develop and optimise reports, dashboards, and analytics to enable timely and informed financial decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver system enhancements and provide user support through training and documentation.
- Maintain governance and compliance by safeguarding financial data, supporting audit readiness, and adhering to risk management frameworks.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement, leveraging emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and scalability.
If successful, this position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis.
About You
You’re a detail-oriented and technically skilled professional with a passion for optimising finance systems and processes. You thrive in dynamic environments, balancing technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement to deliver solutions that enhance efficiency, compliance, and data integrity.
Experience needed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- CPA or CA qualification preferred.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Accounting with at least 5 years supporting and optimising enterprise finance systems, including implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
- Proven expertise with ERP systems and ability to query for reporting and integrations.
- Strong technical proficiency across financial software,
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver in fast-paced environments.
