The Business Analyst is responsible for understanding and documenting business requirements, ensuring they are translated into effective technical solutions using Technology One systems. This role works closely with stakeholders to design and implement systems that meet Council’s needs.
Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Engage with stakeholders to identify business issues and deliver practical, fit-for-purpose ERP solutions.
- Gather, document, and analyse business requirements aligned with Council strategy and TechnologyOne capabilities.
- Collaborate with business units, technical teams, and vendors to ensure solution alignment and shared understanding.
- Assist the data migration partner in identifying, mapping, cleansing, and validating data to meet project standards.
- Contribute to software defect triage and resolution to maintain solution quality and integrity.
- Support change management initiatives, including stakeholder training, documentation, and user adoption activities.
The successful applicant will have:
Essential
- Tertiary qualification and/or relevant professional certifications in Information Management, Information Technology (IT), Business Analysis, or Project Management.
- Demonstrated experience working as an IT Business Analyst on complex enterprise system projects.
- Strong capability in contributing to Solution Design workshops for ERP implementations, translating business processes and stakeholder needs into clear functional and technical specifications.
- Skilled in developing business requirements documentation and user stories, with a focus on traceability and alignment to project scope and objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experienced in facilitating workshops and engaging end users, SMEs, and business leaders to gather insights and build alignment.
- Previous involvement in TechnologyOne implementations, ideally within a local government or similar regulated environment.
- Working knowledge of structured project delivery methodologies such as PRINCE2, PMBOK, or Agile-based frameworks.
