McNally currently has a pipeline of mining camp projects throughout WA’s Pilbara and Goldfields and we are seeking an experienced full time Welder to join the team. We are looking for a highly driven individual that can adapt to a changing environment and can excel in a fast-paced work atmosphere.
The successful candidate will be working on mine sites installing accommodation villages, and in our manufacturing yard in Henderson.
You must be willing to work a minimum 10 - 12hr day on a 2:1 FIFO roster from Perth and be committed to our safety standards and company values.
Responsibilities Include
- Weld and fabricate metal parts using suitable welding techniques as well as bolts and rivets
- Measure, mark, and cut metal pieces using hand tools, power tools, and heat-based cutting methods
- Read and follow drawings and technical plans to understand how metal components are made and assembled
- Selecting the right metal materials and prepare them by cleaning and treating surfaces before fabrication
- Bend, shape, and form metal and pipes using hand tools, machines, and controlled heat
- Position and line up metal components accurately before joining
- Check welds to make sure they are strong, neat, and meet size and quality requirements
- Finish metal components by grinding, smoothing, and applying surface treatments when needed
- Clean and refine welds to achieve strength and a clean final appearance
- Follow all workplace safety rules and site requirements
- Work effectively as part of a team
- Assist with other site-related tasks when required, while mainly carrying out welding duties
- AQF Certificate III or nationally recognised equivalent including at least 2 years of on-the-job training OR
- AQF Certificate IV or nationally recognised equivalent
- White Card
- National Police Clearance (issued within the last 4 weeks)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Ability to meet the physical and operation requirements of FIFO site-based work
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including preliminary and onsite drug and alcohol testing
