Overview

The Scrum Master plays a critical role in enabling high‐performing Agile teams by facilitating Scrum ceremonies, removing impediments, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role partners closely with Product Owners, developers, QA, and business stakeholders to ensure delivery of high‐quality, value‐driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Agile Facilitation & Team Support

  • Guide one or more Scrum teams in the effective use of Agile/Scrum practices.
  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement.
  • Remove impediments and proactively identify risks that may impact delivery.
  • Coach team members on Agile values, principles, and best practices.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with Product Owners to ensure a clear, prioritized, and well‐groomed backlog.
  • Promote transparency and alignment across teams, leadership, and stakeholders.
  • Support cross‐functional collaboration between development, QA, UX, and business teams.
  • Communicate team progress, risks, and dependencies through appropriate reporting and metrics.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive a culture of learning, experimentation, and process optimization.
  • Track and analyze team performance metrics (velocity, throughput, cycle time) to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Encourage adoption of Agile engineering practices such as CI/CD, automation, and quality‐first delivery.

Delivery & Governance

  • Ensure teams adhere to organizational Agile frameworks, compliance standards, and delivery expectations.
  • Support release planning, dependency management, and coordination with other teams or programs.
  • Assist in forecasting, capacity planning, and sprint commitments.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–7 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager.
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
  • Proven ability to coach teams and influence without authority.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict‐resolution skills.
  • Experience working with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, or ServiceNow Agile.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive outcomes in a fast‐paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PSM I/II, SAFe Scrum Master, or equivalent.
  • Experience in environments with CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, or modern engineering practices.
  • Background in software development, QA, or business analysis.
  • Experience supporting distributed or hybrid teams.
