Description:
- Review existing General Ledger structures and identify inconsistencies or duplication across accounts and cost centres.
- Lead GL mapping activities to align legacy charts of accounts with the new structure.
- Analyse financial data to validate account classifications and ensure accurate mapping.
- Work closely with Finance, Systems and Project teams to understand business requirements and translate them into GL mapping outcomes.
- Support system migration activities by preparing mapping templates, documentation and data validation checks.
- Conduct reconciliations and exception analysis to ensure completeness and accuracy of mapped data.
- Assist in testing the updated GL structure within the finance system, including UAT and issue resolution.
- Recommend improvements to GL processes, account hierarchy and reporting structures.
- Prepare clear documentation of mapping decisions, processes and controls for audit and internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
A successful Accountant for this role will have:
- Solid working experience with Xero.
- Strong understanding of General Ledger structures, account mapping and reconciliations.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with project and finance teams.
- Strong organisational skills and a structured approach to documentation.
