About The Role

Join our Parks & Gardens team and help keep the Sunshine Coast’s open spaces vibrant, safe and thriving. In this hands‑on role, you’ll be responsible for the care, management and operation of public parks, natural areas and recreational spaces, helping preserve natural landscapes while supporting both active and passive recreation across the region.

You’ll also take a key role in operating plant and equipment to deliver efficient day‑to‑day maintenance across parks, roadside vegetation and landscape improvement activities making a visible impact in the community every single day.

Operate a Range Of Plant And Equipment, Including

  • Pneumatic‑tyred tractor without powered attachments
  • Pneumatic‑tyred tractor with powered attachments up to 110 kW
  • Apply pesticides, fertilisers and other treatments safely as part of planned maintenance.
  • Support upgrades and rejuvenation of high‑profile parks by suggesting practical improvement solutions.
  • Champion safety and environmental standards — follow procedures, report hazards, and maintain equipment and PPE correctly.
  • Step up as a Leading Hand when required, guiding others and sharing on‑the‑job knowledge.
  • Complete daily documentation accurately (timesheets, logbooks, incident reports) and keep supervisors informed.
  • Work collaboratively in a high‑performing team, delivering excellent customer service and quality results.

About You

You’re someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining high‑quality public spaces, and brings a strong commitment to safety, teamwork and hands‑on work. You will posses:

  • White Card (CPCCOHS1001A – Work Safely in the Construction Industry).
  • Current Class C driver’s licence and LR licence
  • Certificate III in Horticulture or relevant hands‑on experience.
  • Relevant plant licences for the machinery used in the role (e.g., tractors and associated equipment).
  • A high level of physical fitness, including the strength and agility to perform labouring duties and frequent heavy lifting and bending.
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre‑employment medical assessment.
