THE ROLE

The Communications Adviser contributes to the planning, coordination and implementation of priority communications, major events and community engagement and change activities. The successful candidate will demonstrate communication skills across all mediums and work effectively in a team environment.

You will develop communications materials or use across all channels including speaking points and publications, social and advertising, events support as required and support the Communications Manager to deliver quality communications.

Reporting to the Manager the Communications Adviser is a key member of the Portfolio and Sector communications team in the Public Engagement Branch and works collaboratively with other staff in the branch to support portfolio priorities.

As required the Communications Adviser will work with the leadership team to ensure effective communications services, support and resourcing during emergency, crisis and peak periods.

Accountabilities Include

  • Contribute to communications and media strategies and provide advice to support the development and implementation of initiatives across your portfolios.
  • Develop communication materials and strategies for use across all communications channels including speaking points and publications, with a focus on websites, digital and multimedia, to ensure that stakeholders receive targeted, accurate and timely information.
  • Develop and maintain a collateral such as content calendar and monitoring and evaluating communications channels.
